Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valeri Popo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Hall has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Valeri Popo! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Popo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Popo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hall gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Popo ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Popo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Popo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hall's guard. Popo postures up.
Popo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hall keeping full guard, as Popo tries to pass. Hall wants to control the position but Popo says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Popo is pressing down on Hall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hall is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Popo wants to control but Hall is keeping him busy. Hall won't allow Popo to pass to mount. Popo controlling the pace. Hall is breathing heavily.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Popo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hall. Popo throws a body kick that misses. Hall closes the distance looking to clinch and Popo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hall won't be happy with that. Popo controlling the position. Popo lands a few punches from side control. Hall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Popo on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Popo working the ground and pound. Check out the look on Popo's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Popo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Popo scoring with punches from side control. Hall trying to remain calm as Popo controls from the top position. Popo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hall is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Popo landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Popo working the body and head with strikes. Popo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Popo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hall's shoulder. That is not cool. Popo trying to control the action but Hall is working from the bottom. Hall is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Popo controlling the position from side mount. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Popo cracks Hall with a big elbow. Hall takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A control attempt from Hall but he's now mounted! Popo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Popo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hall can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valeri Popo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Popo drives through with a takedown into guard. Hall trying to control the position.
Popo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hall tries to keep at a distance but Popo has taken the fight into the clinch. Popo pulls guard effortlessly. Popo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Popo kicks Hall off and gets to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Popo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Popo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Popo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hall keeps working. Hall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Popo takes a little break here. Hall wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Popo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hall, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Popo tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hall's legs. Hall is trying to control Popo's posture but Popo avoids it. Popo cracks Hall with a big right hand but Hall just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hall gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Popo looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Popo controlling the pace for now. Popo working Hall over with strikes here. Popo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Popo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hall can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Popo controlling the position easily from mount. Hall working to try and regain half guard.
Popo controlling his opponent. Popo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hall is surviving well by controlling Popo's body position as best he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valeri Popo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
A slow jab from Hall misses its intended target. Hall throws a right hand that Popo ducks under and follows up with a left that Popo also avoids with ease. Popo darts in and clinches Hall up against the ropes. Popo has picked Hall up - he's going for a ride! Popo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Popo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Valeri Popo has got the better of the ground game so far. Hall wants to stand back up but Popo manages to pass into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hall is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Popo stands up and beckons Hall to his feet. Popo drives through and clinches with Hall against the ropes.
Popo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hall is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Popo stalls. Popo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hall tries to circle away but Popo has him pinned against the ropes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Popo tries to throw a body punch but Hall avoids it by throwing Popo back against the cage. Hall jumps guard but Popo stands there with Hall around his waist. Hall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hall prevents a takedown attempt there.
Scott Hall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valeri Popo. Popo fails to pull guard.
The is referee keeping an eye on Hall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Popo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Popo shoots in for a takedown but Hall shows good takedown defense. Hall closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Hall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Popo shoots in for a double leg but Hall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall misses with a takedown attempt and Popo counters with a single leg into guard. Hall didn't expect that. Hall wants to improve his position but instead Popo has moved into half guard.
Popo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Popo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Popo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Popo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hall is not content to let Popo control the position. Popo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hall wants to get back to full guard. Valeri Popo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Popo passes to full mount! Popo controlling the pace for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Valeri Popo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Popo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
