Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Waleed Malik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik thuds his shin into the meat of Nunes's side.
Nunes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Malik is fending him off so far but Nunes persists. Nope, Malik circles away and we're back to standing.
Malik feints and then cracks Nunes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nunes down.
Nunes looks gassed!
Nunes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Antonio Nunes has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Malik throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Malik lands with a slapping head kick.
Waleed Malik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunes takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Nunes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Malik. Malik obviously looking to wear him down.
Malik connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nunes sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Nunes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Malik lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Malik.
Malik circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Nunes drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Malik follows Nunes to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Waleed Malik!
