The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malyshev circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lesnar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Malyshev to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Malyshev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malyshev passes into half guard.
Malyshev postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lesnar to stand up.
Malyshev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lesnar.
A punch combination from Lesnar misses.
Malyshev shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lesnar is trying to stand back up but Malyshev is controlling him
Malyshev stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Lesnar won't allow Malyshev to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malyshev lands with a punch from half guard.
Malyshev prevents Lesnar from improving his position.
Lesnar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malyshev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Malyshev works his foot free and advances to mount.
Lesnar tries to reverse the position but Malyshev maintains control.

Malyshev has hold of Lesnar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lesnar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Malyshev gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Malyshev is breathing heavily.
Lesnar lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Malyshev circles away quickly and effectively.
Lesnar fails in his attempt to clinch.
Malyshev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lesnar did well to prevent Malyshev getting side control.
Lesnar wants to improve his position but Malyshev is controlling well.
Malyshev lands strikes from half guard.
Malyshev landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Malyshev passes to side control.

Malyshev has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lesnar!
Malyshev content just to control the position here.
Malyshev won't let Lesnar get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Malyshev throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Lesnar has his hands clasped together but Malyshev breaks the hold and Lesnar is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Malyshev!
