The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reincarneited cracks a nice hook into Riggs's ribs. Reincarneited feints and as Riggs raises his hands in defense, Reincarneited changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Riggs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Riggs controlling Reincarneited's posture. Riggs being controlled here, momentarily. Riggs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Reincarneited pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Riggs is keeping the position for now. Reincarneited has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Riggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reincarneited. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Riggs is staying active underneath Reincarneited, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Riggs can do anything to dispel that myth. Reincarneited throwing strikes from guard but Riggs blocks nicely. Reincarneited wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving. Reincarneited is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reincarneited sitting in guard, not really doing much. Reincarneited works a leg free and moves into half guard. Riggs is trying is best to control the position here. Reincarneited not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reincarneited is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Riggs is just riding it out for now. Reincarneited eventually gives up the hold. Reincarneited is working for a submission of some sort.

Eddie Riggs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Good leg kick by Reincarneited there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Riggs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reincarneited to score an easy takedown into full guard. Riggs wants to sweep here but Reincarneited controlling him for the moment. Reincarneited wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reincarneited accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reincarneited wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riggs keeps working. Reincarneited moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Reincarneited tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Riggs swings and misses with a shot to the body and Reincarneited counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Reincarneited. Reincarneited postures up in Riggs's guard and throws a big left but Riggs blocks it. Reincarneited wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving. Reincarneited is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Riggs is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Riggs has escaped and now he's on top! Reincarneited had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Riggs is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Reincarneited Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Riggs's back instead. Riggs prevents Reincarneited from getting a body triangle. Helio Reincarneited had his way with Eddie Riggs in that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Riggs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reincarneited moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Riggs slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Reincarneited lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Eddie Riggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reincarneited avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Reincarneited counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Riggs! Reincarneited is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Riggs has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee warns Riggs that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Riggs is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Reincarneited looking to control but Riggs is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Reincarneited misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Poor strikes thrown by Reincarneited there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Not yet Reincarneited, not yet. Reincarneited has Riggs pulled in close to control his posture. Reincarneited is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Reincarneited working for a triangle but Riggs defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reincarneited looking for a sweep. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Helio Reincarneited. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reincarneited, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
