Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johny Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Fife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns's entrance music is "Firestarter" by The Prodigy. A fine choice. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Barney Fife was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johny Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barney Fife! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fife is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Burns lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fife fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burns avoids it really well and circles away. Burns tries to score with a low kick but Fife moves his leg out of the way. Fife is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burns sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Burns throws a low kick, looking for Fife's leg but Fife calmly moves out of range. Fife avoids the head kick by Burns.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fife moves out of range of the leg kick from Burns. Burns bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Burns swats away the attempt to clinch by Fife. Burns plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns looks for the body kick but Fife saw that one coming. Fife stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fife wants to clinch up but Burns keeps it at a distance. A solid leg kick lands there for Burns.
Burns wants to land a leg kick but Fife is out of range. Fife checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Burns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fife. Fife tries to land a leg kick but Burns saw it coming and moves away.
Fife uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burns. Fife fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Burns is predictable there and Fife connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Fife throws out a loose jab but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it. Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Fife gets back to full guard.
Fife working for a triangle but Burns defends it easily.
Burns advances position into side control! Fife prevents Burns from improving position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns working away. Fife takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Fife is looking to reverse the position. Fife is pushing Burns's head away, looking to escape. Burns manages to hold on to the position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns cracks Fife with an elbow. That is naaassty. Burns working the head and body with strikes. Burns scores with punches from side control. Fife prevents Burns from moving into mount. Burns tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Burns working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns cracks Fife with a big elbow. Burns lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fife down.
Fife gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Burns drops an elbow to the side of Fife's head. Burns prevents Fife from improving his position. Fife trying to control from the bottom.
Fife avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Burns. Burns moves into full mount! Fife won't be happy about that! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Burns is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Fife has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Fife! Burns is breathing heavily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Burns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fife defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fife gets in close and instigates a clinch. Fife tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Burns's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Fife lands a nice uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Burns. Fife does a little dance to reset his feet. Burns closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Burns lands in his opponent's guard. Burns cracks Fife with a solid left hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fife tries to strike from the bottom.
Fife has his foot on Burns's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burns works his way back into a safe position though. Fife looking to hit a scissor sweep but Burns is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns stands up over Fife, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fife working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Burns. Fife has an active guard here but Burns has managed to pass into half guard.
Fife is breathing heavily. Burns sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fife defending well though. Burns working the head and body with strikes. Fife missing with punches from the bottom.
Burns is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fife is just riding it out for now. Burns eventually gives up the hold. Fife blocking the ground and pound attempt from Burns.

Burns is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fife is just riding it out for now. Burns eventually gives up the hold. That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns goes for an armbar but Fife turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fife. Fife trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom. Burns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fife is one step ahead there. Fife slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johny Burns dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fife tries to clinch up but Burns circles away and keeps his distance. Burns thows a leg kick but Fife checks it letting Fife counter with a right hand. A solid leg kick lands there for Burns.

Burns with a poor takedown and Fife counters with a nice uppercut. Burns is looking to chop away at Fife's legs. Burns scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Burns missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Burns shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fife decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Burns's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fife stopping the sweep attempt from Burns. Burns keeping moving, preventing Fife from controlling successfully. Fife is looking to work some ground and pound but Burns has wrist control. Burns manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fife manages to get himself to full guard.
Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fife swivels though and keeps the full guard. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fife is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Johny Burns is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns trying to control but Fife is working from the bottom. Burns is looking to advance position but Fife has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Fife with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Burns tries to lock up and control but Fife gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fife thowing shots but they're missing. Burns working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fife can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape. Burns is looking to improve his position but Fife isn't that keen on the idea. Barney Fife has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Burns slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Burns wants to control the action here but instead Fife manages to pass to full mount! Burns is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Burns is looking to improve his position but Fife isn't that keen on the idea. Poor strikes thrown by Fife there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Burns gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Burns manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Barney Fife. I think Burns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
