Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Agosto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Agosto's choice of entrance music: Collide. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nicky Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nico Agosto!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agosto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cannon.
Agosto uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cannon.
Agosto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Agosto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Agosto in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Agosto prevents Cannon from getting the reversal.
Cannon throwing hammer fists to the chest of Agosto. What's that going to do exactly?

Agosto fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Cannon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cannon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Agosto defends it well.

Agosto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cannon is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Agosto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cannon's back instead.
Cannon is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Cannon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Agosto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cannon's head.
Agosto distracts Cannon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Agosto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cannon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Agosto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Agosto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cannon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Agosto manages to get himself to full guard.
Cannon wants to get up but he can't break Agosto's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cannon trying to control but Agosto is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cannon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Agosto manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cannon has Agosto in his guard.
Cannon wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nico Agosto dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cannon shoots in but Agosto avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Agosto moves into the clinch.
Cannon throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Agosto blocks it with crossed arms.
Cannon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Agosto uses from the top position.
Cannon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cannon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Agosto controls the pace.
Cannon has momentary wrist control but Agosto slips an elbow through the middle.
Agosto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Agosto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cannon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Agosto's best efforts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Agosto is looking to stand up but Cannon isn't so interested in that idea.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Agosto can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Agosto counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cannon's guard now.

Cannon wants to stand up but Agosto is controlling him.
Agosto is working Cannon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Cannon has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Agosto defend it? Cannon steps over the head and cranks it - Agosto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cannon!
