Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Valo! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fonseca scores a takedown into full mount! Fonseca manages to capitalize on a mistake by Valo to take his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valo trying to control the position but Fonseca manages to sink in the hooks. Fonseca is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Valo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Fonseca lands shots from the back. Fonseca landing with strikes. Fonseca is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Valo is defending well though. Fonseca let's go of the attempt for now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Valo turns into Fonseca and is now in his guard.
Fonseca working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Valo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Valo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's one minute gone in the round. Fonseca has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fonseca is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Valo defends well. Fonseca had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Valo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fonseca Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Valo's back instead. Valo wants to control his opponent's hands but Fonseca gets his hands free. Fonseca is trying to stick to Valo's back but Valo is turning into Fonseca. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Fonseca's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Valo. Fonseca looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fonseca is breathing heavily. Valo wants to control from the top but Fonseca keeps moving. Valo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fonseca had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Valo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fonseca connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Valo to escape the position.
