Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Feng Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Feng Wei! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred Palowakski! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Wei with that takedown attempt. Wei moves out of range as Palowakski strikes. Palowakski thows a body shot but no joy. Wei shoots for a takedown but Palowakski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Palowakski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Feng Wei. That's going to take a lot out of him. Palowakski punishes Wei's body with a nice straight punch. Palowakski throws a lazy right hand but Wei sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Palowakski misses the shot to the body. Palowakski jabbing away but nothing is landing. Palowakski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Wei avoids the body shot from Palowakski.
Palowakski misses with a hook. Wei ducked under it nicely. Palowakski throws a hook but Wei blocks it. Wei throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palowakski. Palowakski misses with a double jab.
Palowakski throws a shot from downtown. Wei moves away and avoids it. Palowakski connects with a looping right hand.
Palowakski misses with a few strikes there.
Palowakski fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wei defending well as Palowakski loads up on a big left hand. Palowakski stuffs the takedown. Palowakski cracks Wei with a right hand to the side of the head. Wei shoots for a takedown but Palowakski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wei is breathing heavily. Wei throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Palowakski's waist but Palowakski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wei off to one side. Palowakski misses with a hook. Wei doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Palowakski cracks Wei with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Wei tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Palowakski pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Wei is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Palowakski!
