Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grisha Blozhenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Shinseki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grisha Blozhenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Shinseki!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinseki shoots in for a takedown but Blozhenko shows good takedown defense.
Blozhenko shoots in for a double leg but Shinseki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Blozhenko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Shinseki fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Grisha Blozhenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Shinseki.
Blozhenko tries for a takedown but Shinseki manages to get underhooks.
Shinseki drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blozhenko pulls his leg out and moves away.

Shinseki gets caught flat footed, as Blozhenko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Shinseki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Blozhenko is aware though and is defending well.
Blozhenko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Shinseki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Blozhenko is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Shinseki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Shinseki wants to control but Blozhenko passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shinseki tries to lock up and control but Blozhenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Blozhenko is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Shinseki scores with a jab to the body.

and Blozhenko counters with a head kick. That will keep Shinseki thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Shinseki moves into range and clinches up with Blozhenko.

Shinseki is pulling down on Blozhenko's head. It's preventing any offense from Blozhenko, at least for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Blozhenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shinseki's guard.

Blozhenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shinseki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blozhenko has managed to get both his arms back between Shinseki's legs - danger averted.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Blozhenko feints and as Shinseki raises his hands in defense, Blozhenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Blozhenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Shinseki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blozhenko defends well.

Blozhenko drops back looking for a leg! Shinseki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shinseki manages to kick Blozhenko off! Blozhenko jumps back into Shinseki's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shinseki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blozhenko manages to get himself to full guard.
Blozhenko is trying to control the position but Shinseki postures up.
Shinseki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blozhenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blozhenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shinseki is one step ahead there.
Blozhenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Blozhenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shinseki defends well.

Shinseki drops back looking for a leg! Blozhenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blozhenko manages to kick Shinseki off! Shinseki jumps back into Blozhenko's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Shinseki drives through and clinches with Blozhenko against the cage.

Shinseki breaks the clinch.

Blozhenko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shinseki did well to prevent Blozhenko getting side control.
Shinseki wants to get back to his feet.

Blozhenko is working for an americana but Shinseki has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Blozhenko was thinking about the submission.

Shinseki had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blozhenko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shinseki Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blozhenko's back instead.

Blozhenko is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Blozhenko is looking to clinch but Shinseki is avoiding it.
Grisha Blozhenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Blozhenko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shinseki sprawls well initially but Blozhenko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Blozhenko is looking to take a break and control but Shinseki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shinseki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shinseki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Blozhenko counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Shinseki decides to pull guard.

Blozhenko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shinseki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blozhenko, into his guard.

Shinseki wants to control from the top but Blozhenko keeps moving.
Shinseki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Blozhenko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shinseki!
Grisha Blozhenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shinseki wants to control but Blozhenko is having none of it.

Blozhenko is going olschool here, as he tries to force Shinseki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shinseki shrugs it off.

Shinseki wants to sweep but Blozhenko has passed to side control!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blozhenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
