Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Orchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Orchard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Wilson! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orchard is looking to clinch but Wilson is avoiding it.
Wilson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Orchard's half guard. Orchard wants to get back to his feet.
Orchard is doing well to control the position and prevent Wilson from advancing to side control. Wilson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wilson is taking a breather. Orchard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Wilson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orchard trying to hold on to Wilson's head to control him but Wilson postures up.
Wilson wants to work for an arm triangle but Orchard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Orchard is looking for a sweep. Wilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Still in half guard, Wilson seems content to control. Wilson wants to control but Orchard is keeping him busy. Orchard has his hands clasped together around Wilson's back. He's all about the action. Orchard wants to improve his position but Wilson is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Orchard leaves Wilson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wilson fails with a takedown attempt. Orchard stuffs the takedown. Ryan Orchard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Wilson. Orchard fails with the takedown. Orchard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wilson was covering up waiting for the punch and Orchard finishes the takedown easily into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilson is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Orchard looking for a sweep. Not yet Orchard, not yet. Orchard is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Orchard working a defensive guard but Wilson manages to pass into side control anyway.
Wilson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Orchard, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Orchard is looking for a sweep. Wilson decides to stand back up. Wilson steps back and let's Orchard get back to his feet. Orchard is breathing heavily. Wilson with a poor takedown and Orchard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wilson's guard. Wilson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Orchard puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Wilson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Orchard stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Wilson to get to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Orchard dominated that round. That's time! Orchard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wilson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Orchard slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Wilson not doing much here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson drops an elbow to the side of Orchard's head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wilson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Orchard is looking to control Wilson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Orchard avoid being mounted? Wilson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. James Wilson has got the better of the ground game so far. You get the feeling that Orchard really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wilson unloading with bombs! Orchard wants to control but Wilson is having none of it. A nice elbow there by Wilson. Wilson controlling the pace for now. Wilson landing strikes from the mount. Wilson looking to finish Orchard with some ground and pound. This is bad for Orchard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wilson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Wilson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wilson is working for a guillotine from mount but Orchard frees his head quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson has control of Orchard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Orchard regains control of the situation pretty easily.

James Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Wilson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Wilson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Orchard swinging wilding here.

The fight stays on the outside here - Wilson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Orchard plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Wilson with a lazy takedown attempt and Orchard counters with a nice body shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Orchard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Wilson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Wilson is pushing Orchard up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Wilson tightens his grip and picks Orchard up, before dumping him to the ground. Orchard manages to land in guard. Orchard wants to sweep but no luck. Wilson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Wilson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson is pressing down on Orchard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Orchard is holding on for now. Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Orchard keeps working. Wilson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Orchard is just riding it out for now. Wilson eventually gives up the hold. Orchard wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orchard tries to get to full guard but Wilson has control of the leg. Ground and pound from Wilson. Wilson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice body punch from Wilson. Wilson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Orchard moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wilson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wilson lands in his opponent's guard. Orchard keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson is stalling in the full guard. Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orchard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wilson wants to control from the top but Orchard keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! James Wilson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wilson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
