PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between EJ Tap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mornington Crescent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tap's entrance music is Pop Lock and Drop It. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crescent looks to land a right hand but Tap moved out of range.
Crescent tries to bum rush Tap with a series of wild strikes but Tap uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tap ducks under a wild hook from Crescent.
Crescent takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Crescent has a takedown stuffed.
Tap defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crescent.
Crescent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tap manages to avoid it.
Tap moves in looking to clinch but Crescent pushes him off.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Crescent connects with a nice short shot to Tap's temple.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tap tries to get to full guard but Crescent has control of the leg.

Crescent is stalling here. Tap is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Crescent seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tap has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Crescent is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tap's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tap's back!

Mornington Crescent dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mornington Crescent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Crescent or perhaps it was just good defense by Tap which made him look bad.

Crescent moves in looking to clinch but Tap pushes him off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tap will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mornington Crescent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Tap swings for the body but Crescent moves out of range.
Crescent pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tap is out of range and Crescent settles back down.
Crescent throws a series of punches but Tap avoids them all with ease.

Tap throws a shot from downtown. Crescent moves away and avoids it.
Crescent doesn't manage to clinch there - Tap circles away.

Crescent tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tap swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Crescent cracks Tap with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Crescent on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Tap clinches up with Crescent and pushes him back against the cage.

EJ Tap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mornington Crescent.

Tap is looking for a sweep. Crescent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Crescent throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tap.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Crescent is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tap.
EJ Tap has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Crescent misses with a takedown attempt - Tap sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mornington Crescent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tap gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Crescent to score an easy takedown into full guard.

EJ Tap showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Crescent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
