Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Make Peke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hessu Hopo! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopo throws a series of punches but Peke moves out of range. Hopo scores with a nice right hand.
Hopo fails with a takedown attempt. Hopo misses with a series of wild punches.
Peke wants to clinch. Hopo works over Peke's head and body with a nice combination. Peke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hopo misses with a double jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Peke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hopo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Peke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hopo shoots in and drives through. Peke sprawls well. Peke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hopo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peke is fending him off so far but Hopo persists. Nope, Peke circles away and we're back to standing. Make Peke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hessu Hopo. Peke moves in looking to clinch but Hopo pushes him off. Hopo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hopo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hessu Hopo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peke tries to clinch but Hopo moves out of range. Hopo throws a right and a left that Peke avoids nicely. Hopo keeps the fight on the outside. Peke fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hopo checks a leg kick. Hopo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Peke moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Peke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hopo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Peke moves into the clinch. Hopo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Peke's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hopo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hopo wants to get back to striking at distance but Peke won't allow it.
Hopo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Peke dodges the punch combination from Hopo.
Hopo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Peke's waist but Peke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hopo off to one side. Hopo closes the distance and clinches up with Peke, looking for a takedown. Hopo pushes Peke against the cage but Peke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hopo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hopo looks gassed! Peke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peke tries to kick Hopo off but Hopo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hopo trying to mount his opponent but Peke defends it. Peke is defending against the submission attempts here by Hopo.
Hopo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hopo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peke defends it well. Hopo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hopo wants to pass to mount but Peke is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hessu Hopo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hopo throws a series of strikes that have Peke backpedaling.

Hopo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Peke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hopo on the ground. Hopo drops back looking for a leg! Peke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peke manages to kick Hopo off! Hopo jumps back into Peke's guard. Hopo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hopo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Peke looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Peke looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Peke! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Peke's best efforts. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hopo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Peke postures up.
Peke is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hopo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Peke is looking to defend but Hopo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Peke! Hopo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Peke taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Hessu Hopo!
