Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jetsky Luckson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jetsky Luckson!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Luckson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control.
Penn trying to control the position but Luckson is working away.
Luckson striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Luckson trying to remain calm as Penn controls from the top position.
Luckson is looking for a sweep.
Luckson regains half guard, as Penn was trying to land strikes.

Penn stands up and beckons Luckson to join him on the feet.

Luckson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Luckson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Penn trying to control here.

Luckson is looking for a kimura but Penn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Luckson to get the leverage.

Luckson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Penn tries to get to full guard but Luckson has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn controlling the position for now.

Luckson wants to work for an arm triangle but Penn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Penn wants to control but Luckson is keeping busy.
Luckson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Luckson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Penn counters with a nice kick to the body.
Penn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Penn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Penn tries to pass to full mount but Luckson defends it.
Luckson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Luckson.
Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Luckson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Penn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Luckson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Penn has managed to get both his arms back between Luckson's legs - danger averted.
Penn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Penn throws and elbow that misses. Luckson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Penn's guard. Nice move by Luckson!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Luckson tries to clinch up

and Penn counters with a shoot takedown. Luckson fights it but they end up in guard.
Luckson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Luckson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Penn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Penn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Luckson is trying to keep Penn in close.
Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Luckson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Penn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Luckson which made him look bad.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Luckson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Luckson lands in his opponent's guard.

Luckson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Penn's head.
Luckson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Luckson gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.

Luckson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Penn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Luckson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Penn has escaped the position, nice work there.
Luckson throws an elbow but Penn slips to the side and avoids it well.
Penn is not content to let Luckson control the position.
Penn is trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Luckson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Penn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Luckson's guard! Nice work there by Penn!

Penn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luckson keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jetsky Luckson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Penn prevents the takedown attempt.

Penn jumps guard and drags Luckson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Luckson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Luckson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn seems keen to control Luckson's posture.
Penn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luckson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now.
Luckson wants to stand and escape but instead Penn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Penn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Luckson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Penn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Luckson leaves Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Luckson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penn is fending him off so far but Luckson persists. Nope, Penn circles away and we're back to standing.
George Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jetsky Luckson.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Luckson clinches up with Penn and pushes him back against the cage.
Luckson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Penn walks away with a smile on his face. Luckson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Penn counters with a single leg into guard. Luckson didn't expect that.

Luckson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Penn!
Penn tries to improve his position but instead Luckson has taken his back!
Penn tries to break free.
Penn controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Penn is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Luckson gets his way!

And that's the end of the fight!
George Penn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Penn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
