Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ron Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacko Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Larson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacko Gracie!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gracie postures up.
Larson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.
Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Gracie trying to control but Larson is working from the bottom.
Gracie advances to half guard.
Gracie is nestled in close to Larson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Larson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Larson's head.

Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Larson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Larson is defending well.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Larson defends it well.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Larson is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Larson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Larson is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Larson looking for submissions off his back.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Larson defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Larson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracie lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Gracie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Larson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Larson is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Larson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Larson has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Larson is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacko Gracie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Larson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Larson manages to avoid it.
Gracie avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Larson moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Larson was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie passes Larson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gracie passes to full mount!
A nice elbow there by Gracie.
Gracie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gracie landing strikes, looking to finish!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gracie with shots to the head and body - Larson looks very uncomfortable down there.
Larson is in a horrible position here. Gracie smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Larson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Larson!
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Larson manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Larson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Larson is retaining full guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Larson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Larson manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Larson's guard.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gracie won't allow Larson to sweep him here.
Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gracie passes into half guard.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gracie moves into full mount! Larson won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gracie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Gracie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gracie lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacko Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Larson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Gracie thows a body shot but no joy.
Gracie throws a shot from downtown. Larson moves away and avoids it.
Gracie takes a swing at Larson's ribcage but misses.
Larson wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.
A big left from Larson misses.
Larson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Larson!
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Larson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gracie breaks from Larson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gracie controlling the pace for now.

Larson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Larson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Larson and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gracie taking a break here but Larson is having none of it and regains half guard.
Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jacko Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.

Larson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Larson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gracie moves into full mount! Larson won't be happy about that!
Larson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jacko Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
