Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomato Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Finn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Theme From Jaws. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomato Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Finn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Both fighters circling a little - Finn finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Nice body kick there by Finn.
Finn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Finn tries to clinch up but Can circles away and keeps his distance.
Can is looking to clinch but Finn is avoiding it.
Can takes a shot to the body in his stride.
An inside leg kick lands from Finn.

Finn closes the distance and clinches.
Can is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Finn gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Can is breathing heavily.
Finn lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Finn controlling the action here for a moment.
Can tries for a takedown. No joy.
Finn wants to stall.

Can seems to have got his legs back now.

Can misses with the combination.
Can keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Finn wants to slow Can down by chopping away at his legs.
Can tries to clinch but Finn moves away
and Finn counters with a thumping low kick.

Can fails with an attempt to clinch.

Can gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Finn tries to escape but Can is in control.
Can controlling the position from side mount.
Can scoring with punches from side control.
Can works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.


It looks like Shane Finn has been cut.

Can looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Finn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Can happy to just control the position for now.

Can gets to mount! Finn was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Can has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Can controlling the pace for now.
Can seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Finn for as long as he can get away with.
Can with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Can with shots to the head and body - Finn looks very uncomfortable down there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Can is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Finn has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tomato Can just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Can chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Finn can pounce on him.
Finn lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Finn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Can is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Finn to the mat. Finn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Can throws a strike but Finn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Finn throws a hook to the side of Can's head but Can sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tomato Can overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Can connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Finn some visible discomfort.

Can swings around for an armbar but Finn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Can's guard.
Finn won't allow Can to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Can is on top in guard.
Can controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Finn is trying to stand.
Can content to control rather than advance.
Can seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Finn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Can in particular looking to stall.
Finn wants to get back to full guard.
Finn wants to control but Can is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Can is pressing down on Finn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Finn is holding on for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
