Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky Vaughn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughn shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Jackson is looking to clinch but Vaughn is avoiding it.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Vaughn, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Vaughn against the cage but Vaughn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Vaughn lands a glancing blow to the side of Jackson's head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vaughn.

Vaughn closes the distance and clinches.
Vaughn lands an elbow inside.

Jackson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Vaughn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vaughn is working hard here to advance position.
Vaughn wants to control but Jackson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vaughn misses with a strike from the bottom.
Vaughn is trying to buck Jackson off.

Vaughn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Vaughn gets full guard.
Vaughn has Jackson pulled in close to control his posture.
Vaughn thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Vaughn is breathing heavily.

Vaughn trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson won't allow Vaughn to get back to his feet.

Vaughn has momentary wrist control but Jackson slips an elbow through the middle.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jackson pushes Vaughn up against the cage in a clinch.
Vaughn working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Vaughn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Vaughn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vaughn fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vaughn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vaughn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jackson rushes Vaughn and presses him up against the cage.
Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jackson breaks from the clinch.
Jackson connects with a jab.

Jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vaughn's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vaughn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vaughn is on top in guard.

Vaughn slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Vaughn trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Jackson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vaughn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vaughn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vaughn somewhat.

and Vaughn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.
Vaughn in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Vaughn taking a break here but Jackson is having none of it and regains half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vaughn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Vaughn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Jackson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vaughn controls the pace.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vaughn wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ricky Vaughn just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vaughn is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Vaughn circles away and we're back to standing.
Vaughn dodges the punch combination from Jackson.

Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Vaughn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jackson keeping moving, preventing Vaughn from controlling successfully.
Vaughn throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely.
Vaughn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vaughn drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Vaughn off! Vaughn jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Vaughn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Jackson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vaughn's half guard.
Vaughn is trying to control but can't.
Vaughn misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jackson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vaughn is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jackson off and has taken his back!
Vaughn wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
Vaughn lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Jackson hold on?!
Vaughn lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Vaughn.
What can Jackson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Jackson breaks Vaughn's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ricky Vaughn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vaughn pushes Jackson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Vaughn leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vaughn shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jackson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Vaughn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Vaughn content to control rather than advance.
Jackson tries to roll over but Vaughn keeps him under control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vaughn is controlling the pace.
Jackson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Jackson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky Vaughn.
I think Vaughn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
