Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Havoc Dugre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Hoekstra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Hoekstra will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Havoc Dugre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Hoekstra! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoekstra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dugre but Dugre pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dugre fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dugre with a lazy takedown attempt and Hoekstra counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hoekstra stays in close to Dugre's body and controls the position. Let's hope that Hoekstra has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hoekstra is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hoekstra avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hoekstra is stalling in the full guard. Hoekstra trying to control but Dugre is working from the bottom. Hoekstra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dugre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dugre is looking for a triangle but Hoekstra pushes his legs off easily.
Hoekstra slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hoekstra must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hoekstra trying to control but Dugre is working from the bottom. Dugre being controlled here, momentarily. Dugre might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Eddie Hoekstra just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hoekstra misses with a takedown attempt and Dugre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoekstra won't be happy with that. A bit of a lull in the action here. Hoekstra looks gassed! Dugre tries for a kimura but Hoekstra is defending well. Hoekstra can't do much from the bottom here. Hoekstra manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoekstra wants to pass to mount but Dugre is defending the position. Dugre is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hoekstra pulls his head out easily. Hoekstra controlling the action here. Dugre actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dugre tries to roll over but Hoekstra keeps him under control. Hoekstra is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Eddie Hoekstra will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hoekstra tries to hold on but Dugre pushes him away. Dugre is working for a guillotine from mount but Hoekstra frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoekstra wants to hold on but Dugre pushes him away. Hoekstra is breathing heavily.

The fighters roll with the hold and Hoekstra manages to kick Dugre off! Dugre jumps back into Hoekstra's guard. Hoekstra keeping moving, preventing Dugre from controlling successfully. Hoekstra is pulling down on Dugre's head. It's preventing any offense from Dugre, at least for the moment. Hoekstra looking to control.

Dugre trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoekstra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dugre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dugre clinches but Hoekstra breaks the clinch and Hoekstra counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dugre! Hoekstra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dugre is looking to escape. Dugre tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hoekstra controlling from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dugre is trying to escape the mount.
Hoekstra takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hoekstra looking to control but Dugre is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Despite being in the dominant position, Eddie Hoekstra just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dugre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoekstra swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dugre pushes Hoekstra up against the cage in a clinch. Dugre presses Hoekstra against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dugre lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Havoc Dugre dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Hoekstra misses with a takedown and Dugre counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hoekstra goes for a takedown attempt but Dugre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dugre shoots in and bounces Hoekstra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hoekstra can do anything to dispel that myth. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dugre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hoekstra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hoekstra is trying to control the position but Dugre postures up. Hoekstra has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dugre passes into half guard. Dugre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hoekstra defends it well. Dugre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hoekstra is just riding it out for now. Dugre eventually gives up the hold. Hoekstra trying to get back to full guard but Dugre takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoekstra bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Dugre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hoekstra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hoekstra trying to control the position from guard on top but Dugre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dugre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoekstra looking to pass the guard. Hoekstra sitting in guard here, content to control. Hoekstra looking to sit in guard and control but Dugre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hoekstra wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dugre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dugre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hoekstra is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hoekstra looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dugre puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Dugre seems to be working for a kimura but Hoekstra defends the submission attempt. Hoekstra trying to control here.
Dugre prevents Hoekstra from improving his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Havoc Dugre showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dugre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
