The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramrod scores with a jab. Hansen acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Berendt Hansen has been cut.

Ramrod sends Hansen crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ramrod is motioning to the referee to let Hansen up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hansen scores with a head kick.

It looks like Jeff Ramrod has been cut.
Jeff Ramrod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramrod fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hansen manages to avoid it.
Ramrod really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ramrod gets control of Hansen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ramrod will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

and Hansen counters with a three punch combo that has Ramrod backing up. Ramrod nods at Hansen to acknowledge the strikes.
Ramrod takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ramrod wants to clinch but Hansen slips to the side
and Hansen counters with an inside leg kick.
Ramrod is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

No joy there for Ramrod, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hansen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ramrod throws a big shot that misses.

Hansen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ramrod looking for submissions off his back.
Hansen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ramrod does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ramrod is pressing down on Hansen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ramrod wants to sweep here but Hansen controlling him for the moment.

Hansen stands and steps away. Ramrod gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hansen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramrod but Ramrod pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hansen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Hansen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hansen.

Ramrod stops Hansen from standing up.

Ramrod prevents Hansen from getting back to his feet.

Ramrod drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hansen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hansen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hansen!
Hansen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramrod keeps working.

Ramrod stops Hansen from passing to mount.
Hansen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ramrod sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Ramrod tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hansen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ramrod, who protects the arm well.
Ramrod is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hansen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ramrod misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hansen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Berendt Hansen will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

The crowd cheers as Ramrod lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hansen doesn't seem phased though.

That has opened up Berendt Hansen's cut even more.
Hansen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ramrod misses the shot to the body.
Ramrod walks into a jab.
Ramrod throws a hook to the side of Hansen's head but Hansen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hansen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ramrod was well out of range. Poor timing from Hansen.
Hansen moves out of range as Ramrod strikes.
Hansen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hansen thumps Ramrod with a low kick.
Hansen takes one on the button.
Ramrod misses with a looping left.
Ramrod clinches but Hansen breaks the clinch
and Hansen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ramrod's knee momentarily.

and Hansen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ramrod won't be happy with that.
Hansen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramrod. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hansen tries to stand but Ramrod controls the position and pulls Hansen into his guard.

Hansen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ramrod has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hansen has managed to get both his arms back between Ramrod's legs - danger averted.

Ramrod is looking for a triangle but Hansen pushes his legs off easily.
Hansen tries to free his leg and advance position but Ramrod is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ramrod is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hansen has his hands clasped together but Ramrod extends an breaks Hansen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ramrod.
