Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Barros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xander Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Xander Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barros checks a low kick from Ribeiro. Ribeiro misses with the combination.
Ribeiro moves in looking to clinch but Barros pushes him off. Barros keeps the fight on the outside. Ribeiro misses with a head kick.
Ribeiro scores a takedown into full mount! Ribeiro controlling the position easily from mount. Barros sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Barros looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ribeiro stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barros defending well though. Barros actively working from the bottom here. Barros looking for submissions off his back. Barros looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barros actively working from the bottom here. Ribeiro thows a huge punch but Barros dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Barros gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barros is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ribeiro works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ribeiro moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Barros. Barros is breathing heavily. Ribeiro has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Barros! Ribeiro is landing with some decent strikes but Barros is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ribeiro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ribeiro sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Barros can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro controlling from the full mount. Barros is looking to get to half guard. Ribeiro landing strikes, looking to finish! Barros tries to improve his position but instead Ribeiro has taken his back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ribeiro is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barros tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Ribeiro controlling the position easily from mount. Barros wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Good control from Ribeiro. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xander Ribeiro dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ribeiro takes a swing at Barros's ribcage but misses. A head kick misses from Ribeiro. Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ribeiro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barros. A combination from Ribeiro does no damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barros is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ribeiro's half guard. Barros is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barros is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ribeiro defends it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro is trying is best to control the position here. Ribeiro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barros is working away from the top position though. Barros is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ribeiro is just riding it out for now. Barros eventually gives up the hold. Ribeiro controlling the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Despite being in the dominant position, Xander Ribeiro just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ribeiro fails in his attempt to clinch. Ribeiro misses with a kick to the body.
Barros tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ribeiro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ribeiro tries for a takedown but Barros circles away easily and Barros counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ribeiro is lucky that one didn't land flush. Ribeiro darts in trying to clinch and Barros counters with an outside leg kick.
Barros closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ribeiro to the mat! Ribeiro manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barros drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ribeiro dives on top into guard. Barros throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Ribeiro avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ribeiro wants to stand but Barros has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Barros working for a triangle but Ribeiro defends it easily.
Barros looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro wants to control from the top but Barros keeps moving. Barros escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribeiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Barros throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ribeiro controlling from the top position. Ribeiro throwing strikes from guard but Barros blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Markus Barros dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Barros shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Barros drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ribeiro dives on top into guard. Ribeiro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Barros is working an open guard so Ribeiro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Ribeiro tries to clinch but fails miserably and Barros counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ribeiro! Ribeiro throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Barros jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ribeiro is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ribeiro and Barros has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro is pressing down on Barros's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ribeiro seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Barros thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ribeiro trying to keep a closed guard but Barros is proving a slippery customer.
Ribeiro might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barros kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Barros wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barros is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barros looking to pass the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick misses from Ribeiro. Markus Barros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Some wild striking there from Barros.
Barros feints and as Ribeiro raises his hands in defense, Barros changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Barros is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ribeiro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ribeiro has escaped and now he's on top! Markus Barros overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ribeiro is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barros is on top in guard.
Barros preventing the sweep. Barros drops back looking for a leg! Ribeiro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ribeiro manages to kick Barros off! Barros jumps back into Ribeiro's guard. Barros has gone for a leg lock! Ribeiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Barros's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Markus Barros showed his dominance in that final round. I think Barros has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
