Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Locke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, frank mir! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! mir closes the distance and clinches up with Locke, looking for a takedown. mir pushes Locke against the cage but Locke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. mir should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Locke clinches up against the cage. Locke's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Locke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like frank mir has been cut. Locke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from mir.

Locke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Locke plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Locke lands with a slapping head kick. A head kick from Locke lands but mir takes it in his stride.
That has opened up frank mir's cut even more. Locke rushes mir and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Locke breaks the clinch.
mir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Locke defends it nicely. Nice takedown defense from mir. No joy for Locke on that attempt. Locke throws a nice head kick!
mir with a poor takedown and Locke counters with a big head kick but mir shrugs it off. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! mir takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. mir circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Locke clinches up against the cage. Locke breaks from the clinch.
mir throws a jab when Locke was well out of range. Locke gets a clinch. Locke connects with a nasty looking knee right to mir's face.
Locke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Locke swinging wilding here.
mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Locke fails with an attempt to clinch.
Locke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Locke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Locke decides to pull guard. Locke is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst mir is controlling him. mir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and mir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Locke dominated that round. The cut man is working on frank mir's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Locke moves in looking to clinch but mir pushes him off. mir throws a sloppy head kick and Locke counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Locke. Locke manages to break the clinch.
Locke doesn't manage to clinch there - mir circles away.
mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Locke is fending him off so far but mir persists. Nope, Locke circles away and we're back to standing. A head kick from Locke lands but mir takes it in his stride. mir is trying desperately to land a takedown but Locke is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for mir. mir falls off balance throwing a combination
and Locke moves into the clinch. Locke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Locke misses with a combination
and mir counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Locke clinches. Locke connects with a knee to the head.
Locke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. mir throws a sloppy head kick and Locke counters with a head kick. That will keep mir thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Locke gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Locke is working for takedown but mir is calmly controlling the position for now. Locke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Locke lands with a kick to the temple. mir shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A head kick misses from Locke. mir throws out a token jab with nothing on it. mir closes the distance and lands a one-two. Locke moves into the clinch. Locke prevents the takedown attempt.
Locke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Locke is trying hard to land a takedown here. mir sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. mir lands a right hook to the body.
Locke fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with mir, pushing him back against the cage. Locke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
mir decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. mir is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Locke is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
