The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuego showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fantana.
Fantana scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Fantana throws a shot to the body.
Fantana slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fantana changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Fuego looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantana is trying to control but can't.
Fuego passes to full mount!
Fantana wants to control but Fuego is having none of it.
Fantana is desperately trying to improve his position but Fuego has a good base and remains in mount.
Fantana sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Fantana gets back to full guard.

Fuego drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fantana looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fantana looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fantana!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuego on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Fantana remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Fantana advances nicely into full mount.

Fuego wants to hold on but Fantana pushes him away.
