The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emperor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mesnar avoids it really well and circles away.
Emperor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mesnar is fending him off so far but Emperor persists. Nope, Mesnar circles away and we're back to standing.
Emperor has a takedown stuffed.
Rock Mesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emperor .
Emperor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Emperor looks gassed!
Mesnar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mesnar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mesnar loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Emperor scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mesnar land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mesnar stands and salutes the crowd.
