The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash tries to land a leg kick but Burns saw it coming and moves away.

Burns shoots in and bounces Nash off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burns goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nash has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Burns but great work by Nash.

Nash wants to stand but Burns is controlling his arm.

and Nash counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Nash loads up on a big right hand but Burns slips the punch.

Nash bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Burns's head backwards.
Nash leaves Burns with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nathan Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fighters circling - Burns throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Burns avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Burns shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nash napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Burns breaks from Nash's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Burns landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Nash throws the left hand but Burns avoids the punch easily.

Nash shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Nash's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Burns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nash's waist but Nash gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burns off to one side.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nash lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Burns has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Burns and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Burns tries to move to mount but Nash blocks the move with his legs.
Burns is looking to take a break and control but Nash is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Burns misses with an uppercut. Nash saw that one coming.
Burns falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nash counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nash throws a leg kick but Burns sees it coming and moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nash is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Nathan Burns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
