Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hideki Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuuji Hanamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideki Masaru! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuuji Hanamoto! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masaru scores with a jab to the body. Masaru closes the distance and lands a one-two. Hanamoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hanamoto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Masaru's head. Masaru is striking from the bottom but Hanamoto uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Hanamoto not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hanamoto stops Masaru from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Masaru gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanamoto prevents Masaru from getting back to his feet. Hanamoto working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Masaru's head. Masaru is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hanamoto is aware though and is defending well. Masaru is breathing heavily. Masaru keeping moving, preventing Hanamoto from controlling successfully. Hanamoto makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hanamoto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hanamoto is in close to Masaru's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanamoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Masaru throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hanamoto uses it to pass to side control.

Nice strikes from Hanamoto there. Masaru desperately trying to maintain half guard. Hanamoto looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Masaru with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hanamoto perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hanamoto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Masaru does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Masaru pushes Hanamoto off looking to stand but Hanamoto dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Masaru is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hanamoto scores with a couple of nice shots. Hanamoto is pressing down on Masaru's thigh, looking to free his foot. Masaru is holding on for now. Hanamoto controlling the pace. Masaru is staying active underneath Hanamoto, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hanamoto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hanamoto is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Masaru manages to escape and get back to his feet! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Masaru swinging wilding here.

Hanamoto postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Masaru to stand up. Hanamoto tries to bum rush Masaru with a series of wild strikes but Masaru uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Masaru gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hanamoto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Masaru looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hanamoto distracts Masaru with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Masaru is trying to control the position but Hanamoto postures up. Hanamoto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Shuuji Hanamoto has got the better of the ground game so far. Hanamoto looking to pass the guard. Hanamoto content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Masaru escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanamoto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hanamoto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Masaru's head. Hanamoto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hanamoto working the head and body with strikes.

Masaru wants to get back to his feet but Hanamoto drags him back down. Hanamoto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masaru keeps working. Masaru is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hanamoto asserts his dominance and retains side control. Check out the look on Hanamoto's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Shuuji Hanamoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Masaru tries to lock up and control but Hanamoto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. BOOM! Hanamoto connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Masaru is rocked! Hanamoto has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Masaru is bucking up trying to escape but Hanamoto cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Oh Masaru is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A big strike lands for Hanamoto! That's really hurt Masaru and he's turned his back - Hanamoto keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hanamoto Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
