Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brazilian Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Burns is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brazilian Assassin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stephen Burns! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burns is defended easily by Assassin. Nice sprawl there from Assassin as Burns shoots in. Burns fails in his attempt to clinch. Burns shoots in but Assassin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Brazilian Assassin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Burns. Burns takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Assassin paws at him with a jab and circles away. Burns misses with a takedown attempt - Assassin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Assassin scores with a jab to the head.
Burns shoots in looking for a takedown. Assassin tries to sprawl out of it but Burns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Assassin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Burns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Assassin tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Assassin to the ground. Assassin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Assassin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Burns shoots for a takedown but Assassin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Burns looks gassed! Burns shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Burns missing with a left hand there. Assassin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nice takedown defense from Assassin. No joy for Burns on that attempt. Burns fails to land the takedown. Assassin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Assassin shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Assassin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Assassin cracks Burns with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Assassin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Assassin connects with a looping right hand.
Assassin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Burns prevents Assassin from getting back to his feet. Burns passes Assassin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Burns prevents Assassin from standing back up.
Burns looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Burns frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns won't let Assassin get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. A nice elbow there by Burns. Assassin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burns on the ground. Burns jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Assassin manages to avoid the submission attempt. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Assassin pushes Burns away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Burns gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Assassin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. An elbow from Burns crashes against the mat.
Assassin pushes Burns away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Burns gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Burns tries to move to mount but Assassin blocks the move with his legs.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Stephen Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burns moves in looking to clinch but Assassin pushes him off. Assassin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Assassin stuffs the takedown. Burns has his takedown stuffed enabling Assassin to counter with a crisp jab. Burns has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Assassin finds it's way round the side to connect with Burns's head. A lazy body kick from Burns and Assassin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Assassin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burns misses with a takedown and Assassin counters with a good low kick that Burns was not able to check. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brazilian Assassin dominated that round. That's time! Assassin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Assassin lands the left hand. Burns needs to keep his hands up - Assassin had a free shot at his head there. Assassin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Burns dives in and grabs Assassin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Assassin pushes down on Burns's head and hops out. Burns misses with the body kick enabling Assassin to counter with a crisp jab. Horrible takedown by Burns or perhaps it was just good defense by Assassin which made him look bad. Burns throws a lazy body kick and Assassin counters with a straight right hand. Burns takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Assassin lands a nice shot that snaps Burns's head back.
Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Burns shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Brazilian Assassin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Burns. Burns is breathing heavily. Burns misses with a double jab
and Burns takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Assassin finds it's target. Burns shoots in for a double leg but Assassin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Burns doesn't manage to clinch there - Assassin circles away.
Assassin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Burns with a lazy takedown attempt and Burns takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Assassin moves into range and connects with a jab. Assassin connects with a looping right hand.
Assassin throws a good cross that connects.
Assassin connects with a single shot there. Burns closes the distance looking to clinch and Assassin counters with a three punch combo that has Burns backing up. Burns nods at Assassin to acknowledge the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good exchange - Assassin coming out on top. Assassin leaves Burns with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Burns has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Burns shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Burns looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Burns shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Assassin cracks Burns with a right hand to the side of the head. Burns has his takedown stuffed and Assassin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Burns's knee momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assassin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nice takedown defense from Burns. No joy for Assassin on that attempt. Stephen Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Assassin lands the left hand. Burns with a poor takedown and Assassin counters with a straight right hand. Assassin thuds his right hand into Burns's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jab from Assassin. The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Burns takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Assassin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Burns on the side of the head. Assassin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Burns tries to score a power double leg takedown but Assassin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burns somewhat. Assassin scores with a decent looking hook. Nice straight punches there by Assassin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Assassin. Burns dives in and grabs Assassin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Assassin pushes down on Burns's head and hops out. Burns moves forwards but Assassin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Assassin scores with the left hand. Burns knows he should have avoided that one. Assassin lands a glancing blow to the side of Burns's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brazilian Assassin dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Burns shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Assassin pinned against the cage. Assassin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Burns moves in looking to clinch but Assassin pushes him off. Assassin scores with a nice head shot. Burns shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Assassin sprawls well. Assassin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burns gets slowly back to his feet. Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Assassin sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brazilian Assassin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Burns. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burns takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Assassin closes the distance and lands a one-two. Burns takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Good shot there by Assassin. Assassin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burns. Assassin wants to clinch up but Burns keeps it at a distance. Assassin punishes Burns's body with a nice straight punch. Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Assassin as he avoids it easily. Assassin lands a jab to the head.
Assassin fails with the takedown and Burns counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Assassin wants to get back to his feet.
Burns thows a huge punch but Assassin dodges it nicely.
Assassin looks like he's trying to stand up.
Assassin wants to stand back up but Burns manages to pass into side control.
Burns decides to take the fight back to the feet. Donk. Assassin catches Burns right on the button with a cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Burns gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Assassin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Excellent takedown into side control there by Assassin. Stephen Burns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Burns explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Assassin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Assassin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Burns. Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Assassin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Assassin lands a jab to the nose.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns takes a jab right on the kisser.
Burns fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Assassin scores with the left hand. Burns knows he should have avoided that one. Assassin scores with a jab. Burns acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Burns throws a head kick that misses and Assassin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Assassin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Burns in his tracks. Nice straight punches there by Assassin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Assassin. Assassin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Burns has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Brazilian Assassin is winning the standup battle so far. Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Assassin as he avoids it easily. Burns on the wrong end of a nice jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Brazilian Assassin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Assassin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
