Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jigoro Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane comes to the cage accompanied by Under a Killing Moon by Thrice. Rob Wood acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jigoro Kane! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rob Wood! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left and a right from Kane both land. Nice combination. Wood takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wood throws a jab but it's blocked by Kane. Wood throws a head kick that misses. Kane moves out of range of the strikes. Wood keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kane. Kane uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wood. Wood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kane moves away. Wood misses with a series of wild punches.
Kane scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wood uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kane. Wood misses the shot to the body. A slow jab from Wood misses its intended target. Wood missing with a left hand there. Kane was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wood misses with a body punch
and Kane makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A low kick from Wood misses and Kane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wood falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Kane counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wood throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kane counters with a head kick. Kane connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Wood tumbling to the canvas! Kane pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Wood was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jigoro Kane! Jigoro Kane retains his welterweight title!
