The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hommis moves out of range of the strikes.

Hommis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mayweather swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mayweather avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mayweather cracks Hommis with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hommis throws a head kick but Mayweather moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Floyd Mayweather.
Well Mayweather has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
