Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mongo Smash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into the arena with Mamma Said Knock You Out blaring out of the sound system. Smash has chosen Donkey Kong Country Music - Main Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quinton Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mongo Smash! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch there but Smash circles away.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smash is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Smash shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard. Smash must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smash avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Johnson is looking for a triangle but Smash pushes his legs off easily.
Smash passes easily into side control. Nice work. Johnson wants to control but Smash postures up. Smash tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well. Smash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Johnson manages to get back to half guard. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Smash thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smash lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Smash is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well. Johnson is trying to control but can't.
Smash is controlling the pace.
Smash is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smash throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson looking for submissions off his back. Smash is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnson trying to control but Smash postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Smash throws a big shot that misses. Smash has taken the fight to the clinch.

Smash looks gassed! Smash pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Johnson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smash.
Smash content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Johnson jumps guard but Smash stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Smash holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smash is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smash missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Smash is proving a slippery customer.
Smash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson has his foot on Smash's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smash works his way back into a safe position though. Smash throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely. Smash throws a big right hand that misses. Smash thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smash throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smash as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson with a poor takedown and Smash counters by clinching up. Johnson misses with a body punch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smash just stands there and leans against the cage. Smash wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but Smash persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the cage. Johnson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Mongo Smash dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Smash tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Smash shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Smash stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Johnson is looking for a triangle but Smash pushes his legs off easily.
Smash lands a couple of elbows. Smash avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smash's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Johnson is looking for a triangle but Smash pushes his legs off easily.
Johnson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Smash has picked Johnson up and slammed him! Johnson can't keep hold of the triangle and Smash manages to pass to side control! Smash working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Smash keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smash lands an elbow. Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smash connects with a decent elbow. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Johnson is not content to let Smash control the position. Johnson tries to buck Smash off but Smash is having none of it. Mongo Smash has got the better of the ground game so far. Johnson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Smash keeps moving and retains side control. Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Johnson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Smash presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Smash lands a big elbow. Johnson is trying to escape the mount.
A nice elbow there by Smash. Smash is going olschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off. Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but Smash has a good base and remains in mount. Smash has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson taking shots to the head. Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Smash's attempts to control the action. Johnson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Smash trying to pass the guard but Johnson defending well. Smash throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Smash has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to get to half guard. Smash pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Johnson tries to reverse the position but Smash maintains control. Johnson is in a horrible position here. Smash smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Smash can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape. Johnson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Mongo Smash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Smash cracks the inside of Johnson's front leg. Johnson tries to clinch there but Smash circles away.
Smash blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Smash fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away. Johnson with a poor takedown and Smash counters with a nice double leg into guard. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Smash is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Johnson looking for subs off his back but Smash has passed one foot through into half guard.
Smash is thwarting Johnson's attempts to control the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smash is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Johnson looking for submissions off his back. Smash is trying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Smash seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt. Johnson trying to control but Smash postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.

Johnson is staying active underneath Smash, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smash is working away from the top position though. Smash is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it.

Smash is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Smash leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Smash closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johnson did well to prevent Smash getting side control. Smash wants to pass to mount but Johnson is defending the position. Mongo Smash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The fighters are battling for position here. Johnson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Smash trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smash defends well. Smash wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Quinton Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

And that's the end of the fight! Mongo Smash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
