Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Bombay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smokey McPot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rocky Bombay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Smokey McPot! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bombay gets a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. McPot is looking for a sweep. Bombay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bombay takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. McPot is trying to stand up here but Bombay is controlling him well. Bombay is trying to control. McPot wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. McPot is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. McPot is staying active underneath Bombay, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bombay stops McPot from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bombay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McPot wants to get back to his feet. McPot is trying to control Bombay's posture but Bombay avoids it. Bombay is looking to take a break and control but McPot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McPot struggling a bit here. McPot is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bombay connects with a decent elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bombay trying to control the action but McPot is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McPot leaves Bombay with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Smokey McPot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McPot wants to clinch up but Bombay keeps it at a distance. Bombay keeps the fight on the outside. McPot misses with a head kick.

Bombay is working for takedown but McPot is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Bombay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McPot working Bombay over with knees to the body. McPot is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Bombay is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McPot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bombay is breathing heavily. McPot prevents the takedown attempt.
Bombay has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McPot is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bombay takes a knee to the side of the body. McPot gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bombay.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. McPot obliges. Bombay takes a knee to the side of the body. McPot holding his opponent close, against the cage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. A knee to the head by McPot.
Bombay goes for a takedown attempt but McPot pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McPot wants to clinch up but Bombay keeps it at a distance. Bombay keeps the fight on the outside. Bombay keeps the fight on the outside. McPot throws a head kick but Bombay moves out of range.
McPot tries to close the distance and clinch but Bombay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bombay feints and as McPot raises his hands in defense, Bombay changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bombay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McPot on the ground. Bombay wants to control from the top but McPot keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Smokey McPot will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McPot doesn't manage to clinch there - Bombay circles away.
McPot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bombay drives through with a takedown into guard. McPot is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McPot works his foot free and advances to mount. Bombay is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. McPot locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bombay is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Smokey McPot!
