Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matedeo Ricardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and georges Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush has chosen Gsp´s Entrance as his entrance music. Matedeo Ricardo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matedeo Ricardo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, georges Rush! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ricardo tries to clinch but Rush is having none of it. The fight stays on the outside here - Ricardo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ricardo fails with a takedown attempt. Ricardo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rush as he jumps to the side. Ricardo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rush's waist but Rush gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ricardo off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matedeo Ricardo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rush clinches up with Ricardo and pushes him back against the cage. Rush manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ricardo tries to free his leg and advance position but Rush is retaining full guard. Rush has his feet on Ricardo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Rush feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rush controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ricardo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rush wanted to stand there but Ricardo had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ricardo is looking for a triangle but Rush pushes his legs off easily.
Rush wants to pass the guard but Ricardo is keeping the position. Rush must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rush stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rush fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rush moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Ricardo is breathing heavily. Ricardo wants to clinch and Rush counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ricardo won't be happy with that. Ricardo is letting Rush control him for a moment. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rush decides to take the fight back to the feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd cheers as Rush lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ricardo doesn't seem phased though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush pushes Ricardo up against the cage in a clinch. Rush breaks the clinch.
Ricardo walks into a stiff left hand from Rush. Ricardo avoids the head kick by Rush.
Rush misses with a jab, cross combination.

Rush fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ricardo, pushing him back against the cage. Rush drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ricardo drops back looking for a leg! Rush is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rush manages to kick Ricardo off! Ricardo jumps back into Rush's guard. Rush looking for a sweep. Not yet Rush, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush managing to control the position. Rush is looking to stand up but Ricardo isn't so interested in that idea. Ricardo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rush looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ricardo is one step ahead there. Ricardo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rush is keeping the position for now. Rush wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rush misses with a wild combination.
Rush looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Rush tries to stand but Ricardo is controlling from the bottom. Rush is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ricardo looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
georges Rush dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rush goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ricardo wants to clinch but Rush slips to the side and Rush counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ricardo won't be happy with that. Ricardo is trying to get back to half guard. Ricardo struggling a bit here. Ricardo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rush controlling from side mount. Ricardo is looking for a sweep. Rush stands up and beckons Ricardo to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rush darts in and clinches Ricardo up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ricardo misses with a takedown attempt and Rush counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rush. Rush breaks from the clinch.

Rush jumps guard and drags Ricardo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Rush has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ricardo off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Rush rushes Ricardo and presses him up against the cage. Rush breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rush swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ricardo clinches but Rush breaks the clinch and Rush counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rush really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ricardo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ricardo is proving hard to escape from. Ricardo being controlled here, momentarily. Rush tries to stand but Ricardo is controlling from the bottom. Rush slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rush stands up from Ricardo's guard - Rush perhaps looking for a knockout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rush throws a big shot that misses.

Rush lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ricardo circles away quickly and effectively. Ricardo drives through with a takedown into guard. Rush manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ricardo can't escape the position.
Ricardo wants to hold on but Rush pushes him away. Ricardo flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rush tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ricardo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Rush sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ricardo tries to hold on but Rush postures up. georges Rush has got the better of the ground game so far. Rush takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
georges Rush showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Rush pushes Ricardo up against the cage in a clinch. Ricardo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rush walks away with a smile on his face. Ricardo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rush throws a head kick but Ricardo moves out of range.
Rush shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ricardo napping and manages to drive through into side control! Rush remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Ricardo struggling a bit here. Ricardo is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rush is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush decides to take the fight back to the feet. Rush throws a right and a left that both miss. Rush lands a lovely overhand right. Rush moves into the clinch. Rush manages to break the clinch.
Rush throws a series of punches but Ricardo moves out of range. Rush moves into the clinch. Rush lands on the inside with an uppercut. Rush breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ricardo with a lazy takedown attempt and Rush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rush closes the distance and pushes Ricardo back into the cage. Rush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ricardo swats away the attempt to clinch by Rush. Rush lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ricardo circles away quickly and effectively. georges Rush is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rush forces Ricardo back against the cage and clinches. Rush has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ricardo uses from the top position. Ricardo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rush works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rush pulls Ricardo in to control the position. Ricardo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rush wants to stand up but Ricardo is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ricardo looking to pass the guard. Rush is controlling Ricardo's posture. georges Rush is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ricardo throws a big right hand that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rush can do anything to dispel that myth. Rush lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ricardo! Ricardo is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rush tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Matedeo Ricardo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ricardo can't escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! georges Rush comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rush has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
