Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Laidlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Parviainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dylan Laidlaw has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dylan Laidlaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stephan Parviainen! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laidlaw tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parviainen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Parviainen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Laidlaw looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Parviainen! Laidlaw lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Parviainen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Parviainen in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Laidlaw is in the full mount, landing strikes. Laidlaw sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Laidlaw has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Parviainen's face.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Laidlaw cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Laidlaw controlling from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laidlaw is going olschool here, as he tries to force Parviainen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Parviainen shrugs it off. Laidlaw controlling his opponent. Laidlaw seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Parviainen for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Laidlaw jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Parviainen manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parviainen is trying to control Laidlaw's posture but Laidlaw avoids it. Laidlaw landing a few strikes. Laidlaw scoring with punches and elbows. Laidlaw controlling the position. Laidlaw could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Laidlaw scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Parviainen to see if he's OK. Parviainen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Parviainen can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Parviainen tries to reverse the position but Laidlaw maintains control. Laidlaw landing punches. Laidlaw sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Dylan Laidlaw just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Laidlaw changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parviainen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Laidlaw dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Parviainen with a body punch. A glancing blow. Laidlaw drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laidlaw trying to control but Parviainen is working from the bottom. Parviainen is looking to stand up but Laidlaw isn't so interested in that idea. Parviainen working a defensive guard but Laidlaw manages to pass into side control anyway.
Laidlaw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Parviainen, who protects the arm well. Dylan Laidlaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Laidlaw has control of an arm but Parviainen manages to advance to Laidlaw's back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laidlaw looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Laidlaw tries to break free.
Parviainen wants to control but Laidlaw manages to buck him off and is now in Parviainen's guard! Nice work there by Laidlaw!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Laidlaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Parviainen keeping moving, preventing Laidlaw from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Parviainen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Laidlaw decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Parviainen's guard. Parviainen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Laidlaw stands and steps away. Parviainen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Dylan Laidlaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Laidlaw shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Parviainen defends it nicely. Laidlaw tries to clinch but Parviainen is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laidlaw throws a wild body kick that Parviainen sees coming a mile off. Parviainen misses with a takedown and Laidlaw counters with a nice body shot. Laidlaw moves in looking to clinch but Parviainen pushes him off. Parviainen has his takedown stuffed and Laidlaw counters with a flying knee. Nice. Dylan Laidlaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Parviainen. Laidlaw tries to clinch but Parviainen is having none of it. Laidlaw forces Parviainen back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Parviainen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Laidlaw lands with a right to the head. Laidlaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Laidlaw connects with a single shot there. Laidlaw is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Laidlaw closes the distance and clinches. Laidlaw breaks from the clinch.
Laidlaw shoots for a takedown but Parviainen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Laidlaw shoots in and bounces Parviainen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Laidlaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Parviainen is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Laidlaw dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Laidlaw looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Excellent takedown into side control there by Laidlaw. Laidlaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Parviainen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Laidlaw advances nicely into full mount. Laidlaw lands a big shot there that rocks Parviainen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Laidlaw looking to secure an arm triangle but Parviainen defends it well. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laidlaw trying to control but he's not successful this time. Parviainen manages to regain half guard. Good work. Laidlaw has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Parviainen defend it? Laidlaw steps over the head and cranks it - Parviainen is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Laidlaw!
