Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Braganca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Ferdinand has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Ferdinand! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Braganca! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Braganca has a takedown stuffed. Braganca tries for a takedown but Ferdinand sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Braganca tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ferdinand sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Braganca somewhat. Antonio Ferdinand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Braganca. Ferdinand stuffs the takedown. Ferdinand misses with a double jab.
Braganca bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Braganca thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Braganca tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Braganca has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ferdinand is trying to control Braganca's posture but Braganca avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Braganca thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Braganca is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ferdinand is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Braganca tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Braganca tries for a kimura. That's two minutes gone in the round. Braganca creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ferdinand sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Ferdinand knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Braganca on the ground. Braganca working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Braganca wants to control but Ferdinand is keeping him busy. Braganca wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ferdinand, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ferdinand gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Ferdinand is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Braganca goes for an armbar but Ferdinand turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ferdinand. Ferdinand won't allow Braganca to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Braganca has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferdinand can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ferdinand has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Braganca looks gassed! Braganca looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferdinand is one step ahead there. Ferdinand tries to stand but Braganca is controlling from the bottom. Braganca is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Braganca is looking for a kimura here.

Gabriel Braganca dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Braganca fails to land the takedown. Braganca avoids the body shot from Ferdinand.
Ferdinand misses with a two punch combination.
Ferdinand lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Braganca circles away quickly and effectively. Braganca avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ferdinand gets caught flat footed, as Braganca shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Braganca postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ferdinand is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Braganca, into his guard. Ferdinand got a little sloppy there for a moment and Braganca has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ferdinand has managed to get both his arms back between Braganca's legs - danger averted. Braganca is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ferdinand is sitting in close to Braganca's body. Braganca has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ferdinand is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ferdinand is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Braganca.
