Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between TIAGO VALERIO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and michael negron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). michael negron will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
negron circles away from the clinch attempt.
negron lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but VALERIO circles away quickly and effectively.

VALERIO gets control of negron's arms and successfully pulls guard. VALERIO will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
negron tries to free his leg and advance position but VALERIO is retaining full guard.

negron is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
VALERIO can't keep his opponent in guard - negron advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
negron content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Let's hope that negron has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
VALERIO is not content to let negron control the position.

negron wants to work for an arm triangle but VALERIO is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, michael negron just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

VALERIO is bucking up trying to escape but negron cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

michael negron showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! VALERIO's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

negron throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
VALERIO keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for negron. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
negron thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

negron uses the cage to get back to his feet.

negron has closed the distance and engaged VALERIO in a clinch.
negron lands a right hand that snaps the head of VALERIO backwards.

VALERIO is trying to maintain a safe position but negron gets an underhook and turns VALERIO into the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
VALERIO tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. negron smiles and moves away.

No luck for negron with that takedown attempt.

negron turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and negron manages to end up in side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well negron has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
