Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bala Bala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urubu Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bala comes to the cage accompanied by Tough at the top. Urubu Rei has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bala Bala's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Rei has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bala is proving hard to escape from. Rei passes Bala's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bala wants to improve his position but Rei is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rei tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bala swats him away and circles back towards the center. A head kick misses from Bala. Urubu Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rei throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Rei shoots in but no luck this time. Bala Bala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Urubu Rei. Rei is breathing heavily. Bala lands a with a good body shot. Rei doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bala moves into the clinch. Bala wants to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bala steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rei. Bala manages to get back to half guard. Rei seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bala slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
