Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hubert Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuu Atarashii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuu Atarashii looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hubert Gruber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuu Atarashii !
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Gruber or perhaps it was just good defense by Atarashii which made him look bad.
Atarashii throws a head kick that half lands.
Atarashii closes the distance and clinches.
Atarashii is pressed up against the cage. Gruber has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Atarashii down to the mat. Atarashii avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Atarashii jumps guard but Gruber stands there with Atarashii around his waist. Atarashii gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The is referee keeping an eye on Atarashii - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hubert Gruber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuu Atarashii .
Gruber is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Atarashii pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Atarashii is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gruber is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Atarashii to the mat. Atarashii regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Gruber wants to control from the top but Atarashii keeps moving.
Gruber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Atarashii swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gruber postures up in Atarashii 's guard and throws a big left but Atarashii blocks it.
Gruber decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gruber misses with a jab, cross combination.
Atarashii closes the distance and clinches.
Atarashii putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Gruber in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Gruber goes for a takedown in the clinch but Atarashii prevents it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Atarashii is trying to stand up here but Gruber is controlling him well.

Gruber tries for a takedown but Atarashii sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
