Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, MC Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ripp Arrm! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arrm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hammer's waist but Hammer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arrm off to one side. Arrm swats away the attempt to clinch by Hammer. Hammer moves in looking to clinch but Arrm pushes him off. Hammer throws a sloppy head kick and Arrm moves out of range easily. Arrm circles away from the clinch attempt.
Arrm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hammer as he jumps to the side. Hammer doesn't manage to clinch there - Arrm circles away.
Arrm should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Arrm shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arrm trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arrm tries to free his leg and advance position but Hammer is retaining full guard. Hammer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arrm trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hammer keeping full guard, as Arrm tries to pass. Arrm trying to control but Hammer is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hammer scores a takedown into full mount! Hammer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Arrm is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer is landing with some decent strikes but Arrm is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
It looks like Ripp Arrm has been cut. Arrm manages to regain half guard. Good work. Arrm gets full guard. Arrm is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hammer throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Arrm's body to avoid the submission. Arrm has instead reached around Hammer's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Arrm arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ripp Arrm!
