Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jermaine Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Can!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Can throws a leg kick that misses.
Williams tries to score a power double leg takedown but Can sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Williams somewhat.
Can looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range.
Can throws a sloppy head kick and Williams moves out of range easily.
Can throws a chopping leg kick but Williams manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Can misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Can connects with a good right hand that stumbles Williams. Williams circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Williams fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt - Can sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jermaine Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Can closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williams to the mat! Williams manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Can working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Williams's head.
Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Can striking from the bottom.
Williams is keen to just control but Can is a slippery customer.
Can has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Can tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg.
Williams wants to control but Can is keeping him busy.

Williams is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Can sees it coming and defends easily.
Williams is looking to take a break and control but Can is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Williams gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Can drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Can off! Can jumps back into Williams's guard.

Williams working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Can has passed into half guard!

Williams is trying to control but can't.
Can wants to pass the guard but Williams is defending well.
Can moves nicely into side control.
Williams struggling a bit here.

Can is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Can looks gassed!
Williams is trying to control Can's posture but Can avoids it.
Williams manages to work his way to half guard, despite Can's best efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Williams wants to control but Can is keeping busy.

Williams looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Williams is trying to control but Can manages to pass to mount!
Williams tries to lock up and control but Can gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Can is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Williams is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Williams flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Can anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Williams and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Can slips an arm under Williams chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Can has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Can is squeezing on Williams like an anaconda would it's prey. Williams fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tom Can!
