Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Narcoleptic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paavo Taneli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Narcoleptic has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rick Narcoleptic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paavo Taneli! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Narcoleptic fails with the takedown. Taneli shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Narcoleptic is trying to defend but Taneli finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. It looks like Taneli is going to stand back up.
Taneli wants to take a breather but Narcoleptic is having none of it. Narcoleptic is breathing heavily. Taneli works his way into full mount! A nice elbow there by Taneli. Taneli can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Narcoleptic is looking to escape. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Taneli cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's one minute gone in the round. Taneli takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Taneli lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Taneli trying to control but Narcoleptic is having none of it. Narcoleptic is trying to reverse the position but instead Taneli has taken his back - oops! Taneli controlling the position well here. Narcoleptic rolled but Taneli kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Taneli has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taneli struggling to keep hold of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taneli lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Taneli.
Taneli is looking to control Narcoleptic but Narcoleptic is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Despite being in the dominant position, Paavo Taneli just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Taneli tries to land a front kick but Narcoleptic steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Taneli tries to clinch up but Narcoleptic circles away and keeps his distance. Narcoleptic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Taneli to score an easy takedown into full guard. Taneli with a nice head shot there. Taneli pushing down on Narcoleptic's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Taneli wants to take a breather but Narcoleptic is having none of it. Narcoleptic looking for submissions off his back. Taneli trying to control the action but Narcoleptic is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Narcoleptic has hold of Taneli's hands but Taneli slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Taneli tries to pass to full mount but Narcoleptic defends it. Taneli wants to take a breather but Narcoleptic is having none of it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Taneli is looking to land body kicks. Narcoleptic gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Taneli scores with a takedown into Narcoleptic's guard. Taneli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Narcoleptic swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paavo Taneli dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Narcoleptic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Narcoleptic being controlled here, momentarily. Narcoleptic looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Taneli decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Taneli tries for a takedown but Narcoleptic circles away easily so Narcoleptic counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Taneli is pulling down on Narcoleptic's head. It's preventing any offense from Narcoleptic, at least for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taneli's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Narcoleptic tries to free his leg and advance position but Taneli is retaining full guard. Taneli bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Narcoleptic's guard. Taneli wants to stand but Narcoleptic is controlling his posture from full guard. Narcoleptic looking for subs off his back but Taneli has passed one foot through into half guard.
Taneli is looking to advance position but Narcoleptic won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Narcoleptic is staying active underneath Taneli, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Narcoleptic is trying to maintain the position but Taneli is very close to passing his half guard. Taneli slows the pace down in half guard. Taneli missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Taneli seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Narcoleptic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Narcoleptic is looking for a sweep. Taneli is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Narcoleptic is pressing down on Taneli's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Narcoleptic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taneli gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Narcoleptic has a closed guard, preventing Taneli from standing up. Taneli sitting in guard here, content to control. Narcoleptic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taneli defends well. Taneli working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Narcoleptic throws his legs up looking for a submission but Taneli uses it to pass to side control.
Taneli lands a nice forearm strike. Taneli in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Taneli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Narcoleptic keeps working. The referee asks Taneli politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Taneli prefers to stall for the moment though. Narcoleptic sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Narcoleptic trying to hold on to Taneli's head to control him but Taneli postures up.
Narcoleptic wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rick Narcoleptic will probably get the nod. That's time! Narcoleptic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Taneli must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Narcoleptic keeping moving, preventing Taneli from controlling successfully. Taneli slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Taneli stands up and waves to Narcoleptic to follow him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Narcoleptic tries for a takedown but Taneli circles away easily and Taneli decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Narcoleptic's guard. Narcoleptic looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Narcoleptic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taneli defends well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Narcoleptic looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Narcoleptic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taneli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taneli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Narcoleptic keeping moving, preventing Taneli from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Taneli throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Taneli tries to clinch up. Rick Narcoleptic is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Taneli looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Narcoleptic! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Taneli cracks Narcoleptic with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that's the end of the fight! Paavo Taneli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Taneli has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
