Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Mendosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Tronk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tronk has chosen "Go Getta" - Young Jeezy as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benny Tronk! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tronk stuffs the takedown attempt from Mendosa. Mendosa gets slowly back to his feet. Tronk tries to clinch but Mendosa is having none of it. Mendosa shoots for a double leg takedown but Tronk sprawls well. He's pushed Mendosa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tronk is looking to clinch. Tronk tries to clinch up but Mendosa circles away and keeps his distance. Mendosa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Mendosa. Mendosa pulls guard effortlessly. Mendosa could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mendosa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tronk stopping the sweep attempt from Mendosa.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tronk is looking to stand up but Mendosa won't let him. Mendosa is working an open guard so Tronk takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Tronk instigates a clinch. Mendosa fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Tronk wants to get back to his feet but Mendosa is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mendosa slips nicely into half guard. Mendosa trying to mount his opponent but Tronk defends it. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mendosa scores with a couple of short elbows. Mendosa misses with the ground and pound. Mendosa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Tronk some visible discomfort.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Tronk is looking to escape. Mendosa is trying to work for a kimura but Tronk is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendosa passes the guard and advances to mount! Tronk tries to buck Mendosa off but he can't manage it. Mendosa looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mendosa goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tronk is on top in guard.
Tronk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mendosa is proving hard to escape from. Tronk is posturing up here but Mendosa has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tronk tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tronk has to tap! Slick submission there by Mendosa!
