Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Chapron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PJ Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chapron comes to the cage accompanied by Darude - Sandstorm . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chapron.

Chapron has managed to clinch.

Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Chapron creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.

Jones tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chapron is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Chapron circles away and we're back to standing.
Chapron smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chapron is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Chapron circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jones is trying desperately to land a takedown but Chapron is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jones.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Chapron has taken the fight into the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Chapron's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jones is working for takedown but Chapron is calmly controlling the position for now.

Chapron fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.

No joy there for Chapron, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
Chapron is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jones has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chapron keeps working.
Chapron wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Jones tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Jones is trying to move to mount but Chapron reverses beautifully and ends up in Jones's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chapron would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chapron manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jones's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones slips nicely into half guard.
Jones wants to pass to mount but Chapron is defending the position.
Chapron is looking to escape.

Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Chapron is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chapron seems a little lost for a moment, as Jones dominates the positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Chapron is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jones yanks on the arm and Chapron is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jones.
