The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Philips closes the distance and clinches.
Gonzales jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Philips walks away with a smile on his face. Gonzales gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gonzales.
Philips throws a series of punches but Gonzales moves out of range.
Gonzales tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Philips swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Speedy Gonzales. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The is referee keeping an eye on Philips - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Philips is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gonzales is defending well for now.

Philips cracks Gonzales with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Philips has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gonzales to stand back up!
Gonzales is rocked!
Philips has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gonzales switches off momentarily and Philips cracks him with a monster right hand! Gonzales topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Philips dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Philips!
