The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baxter misses with a series of wild punches.

and Baxter counters with a series of strikes. Soule will be more careful next time no doubt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Soule. Baxter misses with a double jab.

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baxter can do anything to dispel that myth. Baxter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Baxter throws a right and a left that Soule avoids nicely. A left and a right from Baxter both land. Nice combination. Baxter misses with a combination

No, Baxter has escaped the position, nice work there. Baxter wants to get back to his feet but Soule drags him back down. Soule tries for a kimura but Baxter is defending well. Baxter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Baxter pushes Soule off looking to stand but Soule dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soule is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Baxter has managed to free his arm - good work. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baxter wants to get back to his feet.
Soule controlling the pace. Soule is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baxter is just riding it out for now. Soule eventually gives up the hold. Soule passes to side control. Baxter is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Soule tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Soule thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Baxter is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Baxter is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Soule is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Baxter lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Soule backs up against the ropes.
Soule shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baxter defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Soule. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baxter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
And that's the end of the fight! Toby Baxter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Baxter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
