Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Pridmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the ring accompanied by Darude - Sandstorm. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wanderlei Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Pridmore!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pridmore throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pridmore is defended easily by Silva.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Pridmore moves out of range easily.
Pridmore lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pridmore throws a head kick that misses
and Silva counters with a good low kick that Pridmore was not able to check.
Pridmore tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva moves out of range as Pridmore strikes.
Silva leaves Pridmore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pridmore moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Pridmore misses with a knee strike.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Silva looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Silva throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Silva is trying to stall.
Pridmore is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Pridmore blocks an elbow strike from Silva.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pridmore is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the ropes.
Pridmore has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wanderlei Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Pridmore.

Pridmore dodges an elbow strike from Silva.
Pridmore avoids the elbow strike from Silva, against the ropes.
Pridmore trying to stall but Silva improves his position.
Silva stalling in the clinch but Pridmore improves position.
Silva throws an elbow but it misses.
Silva blocking some punches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Silva.
Silva misses with an elbow strike.
Pridmore wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the ropes.
Pridmore has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Silva lands a nice elbow.
Silva blocks a punch to the side of the head.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Silva throws an elbow but misses.
Silva throws an elbow that misses.
Pridmore is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Silva is keeping busy.
Pridmore looks gassed!
Silva creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Silva misses with an elbow strike.
Silva misses with an elbow over the top.
Pridmore tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Silva's elbow.
Silva is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Pridmore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pridmore defends it nicely.

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pridmore can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pridmore is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Silva is looking to stand up but Pridmore won't let him.
Pridmore is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Pridmore isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Silva stacks Pridmore on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Silva!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silva is working to tighten is grip on Pridmore's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pridmore has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Pridmore passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
