Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ichiro Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Slanski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chan's entrance music is Spartan X. A fine choice. Ichiro Chan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ichiro Chan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Slanski! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chan throws a leg kick which misses Slanski's front leg but catches the back leg as Slanski tries to avoid it. Slanski tries to move into range but Chan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Slanski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chan throws out the jab. Slanski closes the distance and clinches up with Chan, looking for a takedown. Slanski pushes Chan against the cage but Chan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chan scores with a nice strike. Chan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Chan lands a head kick!
It looks like Brian Slanski has been cut. Slanski blocks a low kick nicely. Chan throws a head kick but Slanski moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chan slips a jab from Slanski. Slanski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chan moves away. Chan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chan shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Some bone on bone action there as Slanski checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Chan, right into the meat.
Ichiro Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slanski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chan to the mat! Chan manages to get full guard. Slanski wants to control from the top but Chan keeps moving. Slanski drops back looking for a leg! Chan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chan manages to kick Slanski off! Slanski jumps back into Chan's guard. Slanski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slanski has Chan in his guard. Chan trying to control the position from guard on top but Slanski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chan passes into half guard. Slanski wants to improve his position but Chan is controlling well.

Chan drops back looking for a leg! Slanski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Slanski manages to kick Chan off! Chan jumps back into Slanski's guard. Chan works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Slanski works his way to full guard. Good work. Slanski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Slanski looks gassed! Slanski looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Chan passes into half guard.
Chan passes the guard and advances to mount! Chan wants to control the pace but Slanski is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chan looking to control but Slanski is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Slanski working to try and regain half guard.
Slanski gets back to half guard. Chan is trying to control. Slanski wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ichiro Chan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brian Slanski's cut. That's time! Chan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Slanski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chan napping and manages to drive through into side control! Slanski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Slanski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Chan tries to improve position but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Slanski checks the leg kick nicely there.
Chan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Slanski is out of range and Chan settles back down. Ichiro Chan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slanski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Chan tries to bum rush Slanski with a series of wild strikes but Slanski uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Chan tried to score with a low kick but Slanski checks it. Nice shot by Chan. Chan with a nice cross. Slanski checks a leg kick. Chan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Slanski checks a leg kick nicely.

Chan shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Chan wants to slow Slanski down by chopping away at his legs. Chan throws a right hand that Slanski ducks under and follows up with a left that Slanski also avoids with ease. Chan pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ichiro Chan will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Brian Slanski's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Slanski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chan is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chan pushes down on Slanski's leg and manages to get into half guard. Slanski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chan pulls his head out easily. Slanski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chan prevents Slanski from improving his position. Chan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Slanski defending well though. Slanski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slanski. Chan postures up.

Chan is pushing down on Slanski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Slanski is fighting to maintain full guard but Chan has managed to sneak the leg through. Slanski wants to improve his position but Chan is controlling well.
Chan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slanski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Slanski tries to roll over but Chan keeps him under control. Chan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Slanski knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Chan scores with a leg kick.
Chan cracks Slanski with a good jab. Chan wants to land a leg kick but Slanski is out of range. Chan swings away with a leg kick that misses. Chan lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Slanski blocks a low kick nicely. Chan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Chan throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Chan feints and then cracks Slanski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Slanski down. Chan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Chan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Slanski's hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slanski fails with a takedown attempt. Chan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Slanski misses with a straight right. Chan connects with a high kick. Chan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Slanski tries to score with a low kick but Chan moves his leg out of the way. Slanski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Brian Slanski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ichiro Chan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slanski is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Ichiro Chan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
