Popov comes to the cage accompanied by Macedonian Music. Wayne Lugz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jack Popov's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lugz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Popov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lugz slips a jab and a cross from Popov.

Popov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Popov shoots in for a takedown but Lugz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Popov clinches with his opponent.

Popov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lugz sprawls well. Lugz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Popov gets slowly back to his feet. Jack Popov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Popov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Lugz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Popov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Popov lands a big shot there that rocks Lugz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Popov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Popov is landing with some decent strikes but Lugz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Lugz holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Popov tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Popov is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Lugz is forced to tap! Great finish!
