Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krendal Svorak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Gracie! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svorak misses with a head kick.
Svorak rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gracie jumps guard but Svorak stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Svorak throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gracie blocks it with crossed arms. Svorak crunches a lovely knee into Gracie's ribcage. Svorak tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gracie avoids it. Svorak lands a takedown into guard.
Svorak drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gracie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gracie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gracie! Svorak tries to get back to half guard but can't. Svorak is working hard here to advance position. Svorak wants to control but Gracie postures up. Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gracie decides to stand up, so the ref orders Svorak to his feet. Gracie looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Svorak dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Svorak. Gracie throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gracie throws a hook but Svorak blocks it. Gracie tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Svorak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Svorak. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Svorak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Svorak prevents a takedown attempt there.
Krendal Svorak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio Gracie. Svorak avoiding damage.

Svorak lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Svorak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Svorak takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Svorak using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Svorak utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Gracie blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Gracie takes an elbow to the temple. Svorak gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Svorak prevents Gracie from standing back up.
Svorak wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Svorak working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Gracie's thigh. Gracie counters though and makes it back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie wants to stand and escape but Svorak is having none of it. Svorak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Svorak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gracie throws a sloppy head kick and Svorak moves out of range easily. Gracie misses with a takedown attempt and Svorak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Svorak. Svorak gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gracie avoiding damage as Svorak throws knees to the body.
Svorak dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Gracie takes a knee to the side of the body. Svorak misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gracie.
Gracie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Svorak thows a body shot but no joy. Svorak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie cracks Svorak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Gracie looks to clinch and Svorak counters by moving into the clinch. Svorak gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie kicks Svorak off and gets back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Krendal Svorak dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sergio Gracie's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Svorak pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sergio Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Svorak works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Gracie looks to land a left hand but Svorak moved out of range nicely. A head kick misses from Svorak. Gracie clinches but Svorak breaks the clinch and Svorak counters by clinching up. Svorak misses with a knee to the head. Gracie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie wants to get back to striking at distance but Svorak won't allow it.
Svorak has Gracie pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Svorak pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gracie tumbling to the mat - Svorak dives into Gracie's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Svorak from controlling successfully.

Svorak postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it. Svorak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Svorak postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Svorak, into his guard. Gracie landing some decent shots from guard. Svorak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gracie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Svorak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Svorak looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gracie puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Nice strikes from Gracie there. Svorak moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Gracie wants to control from the top but Svorak keeps moving. Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Svorak kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Svorak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Svorak manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Krendal Svorak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Svorak is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well. Svorak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Svorak not landing any meaningful shots this time. Svorak is just content to waste time from the top position. Gracie takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gracie is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Svorak from controlling successfully. Krendal Svorak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svorak controls from within his opponent's guard. Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. Svorak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Svorak has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Svorak seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Svorak seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gracie for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sergio Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Svorak passes easily into side control. Nice work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Svorak remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that's the end of the fight! Krendal Svorak showed his dominance in that final round. Well Svorak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
