The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sanders moves away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from machida, right into the meat.
Sanders avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sanders swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
No joy there for machida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
machida fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sanders misses the jab.
machida forces Sanders back against the cage and clinches.
machida scores with a knee to the head.
machida throws an elbow but it misses.
machida with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

machida pushes off an throws an elbow but Sanders leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Sanders wants to get back to striking at distance but machida won't allow it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, machida just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sanders's brow.

Sanders successfully pulls guard.
Sanders working for a triangle but machida defends it easily.
Sanders is looking to sinch up a triangle. machida throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sanders's body to avoid the submission. Sanders has instead reached around machida's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sanders arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
