Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iron Fist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dylan Laidlaw! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fist fails with an attempt to clinch.
Laidlaw should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Laidlaw avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fist blocks a head kick by Laidlaw.
Fist tries to keep at a distance but Laidlaw has taken the fight into the clinch. Fist prevents Laidlaw from breaking the clinch. Fist tries to break free but Laidlaw pushes him back against the cage. Laidlaw holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Fist with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Fist throws an elbow that misses.
Fist throws a head punch that misses. Laidlaw tightens his grip and picks Fist up, before dumping him to the ground. Fist manages to land in guard. Laidlaw controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fist wants to stand but Laidlaw is controlling the position. Laidlaw gets to his feet - Fist follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Fist looks to clinch and Laidlaw counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Laidlaw content to control rather than advance. Laidlaw lands strikes from half guard. Laidlaw thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fist's head. Laidlaw stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fist closes the distance looking to clinch and Laidlaw counters with a shoot takedown. Fist fights it but they end up in guard. Laidlaw looks gassed! Laidlaw sitting in guard, not really doing much. Laidlaw stands up from guard. Let's bang! Fist closes the distance looking to clinch and Laidlaw counters with a single leg into guard. Fist didn't expect that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fist keeping full guard, as Laidlaw tries to pass. Laidlaw won't allow Fist to get back to his feet. Laidlaw stays in close to Fist's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Laidlaw dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Fist darts in trying to clinch and Laidlaw counters by clinching up. Fist tries a knee to the head but Laidlaw blocks it.
Fist lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Laidlaw backwards.
It looks like Dylan Laidlaw has been cut. Fist tries to break the clinch but Laidlaw is controlling the position. Laidlaw jumps guard but Fist stands there with Laidlaw around his waist. Laidlaw gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Fist's face as he tries to break the clinch. Laidlaw keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fist's efforts to push away. Laidlaw has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fist avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Fist looks to throw an elbow but misses. Fist prevents Laidlaw from breaking the clinch. Fist has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fist misses with some punches.

Laidlaw is trying to drag Fist to the mat but Fist just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Iron Fist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Laidlaw. A head punch on the inside from Fist fails to land. Laidlaw fails to pull the fight into his guard.

A frustrated look appears on Fist's face as he tries to break the clinch. Fist looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Laidlaw wants to break free but Fist has control.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Fist wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Fist tries to circle away but Laidlaw has him pinned against the cage. Fist has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Fist tries to break the clinch but Laidlaw is controlling the position. Fist wants to get back to striking at distance but Laidlaw won't allow it.

Fist closes the distance but Laidlaw moves to the side and Laidlaw counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Laidlaw wants to pass the guard but Fist is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fist wants to get back to his feet but Laidlaw is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Laidlaw thows a big elbow that misses. Laidlaw decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fist, up you get! Laidlaw closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Laidlaw lands in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw sitting in guard here, content to control. Laidlaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Fist is retaining full guard. Laidlaw is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fist keeping moving, preventing Laidlaw from controlling successfully. Laidlaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Laidlaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dylan Laidlaw's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Fist tries to keep at a distance but Laidlaw has taken the fight into the clinch. Fist is trying to break the clinch but Laidlaw has him pressed against the cage. Fist lands a right hand that snaps the head of Laidlaw backwards. Laidlaw tries to pull guard but Fist won't allow it.

Laidlaw jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fist walks away with a smile on his face. Laidlaw gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Iron Fist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Laidlaw. Laidlaw clinches up with Fist and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fist scores with an uppercut up the middle. Laidlaw keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fist's efforts to push away. Laidlaw decides to pull guard. Laidlaw trying to control the position here. Laidlaw tries to land a sweep but no joy. Fist wants to get up but he can't break Laidlaw's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw pulls Fist in close to prevent any damage. Laidlaw tries to land a sweep but no joy. Laidlaw seems keen to control Fist's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Laidlaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fist gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Laidlaw has his foot on Fist's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fist works his way back into a safe position though. Iron Fist has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dylan Laidlaw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Laidlaw wants to stand up but Fist is controlling him.
And that's the end of the fight! Dylan Laidlaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Laidlaw winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
