The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevensson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Stevensson jumps guard but Kobayashi stands there with Stevensson around his waist. Stevensson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kobayashi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kobayashi stops Stevensson from getting back to his feet.
Stevensson has hold of Kobayashi's hands but Kobayashi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Stevensson wants to get back to his feet.
Kobayashi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Stevensson!

Kobayashi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Stevensson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevensson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stevensson tries to lock up and control but Kobayashi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

I really don't envy Stevensson right now.

Kobayashi has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Stevensson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Kobayashi gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
