Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Paulista.
Paulista throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Viana clinches up with Paulista and pushes him back against the cage.
Paulista manages to break the clinch.

Viana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paulista swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Viana counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Paulista scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Viana uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Paulista.

Paulista throws a series of punches but Viana avoids them all with ease.
Paulista misses with the combination.
The fighters circling - Paulista throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Paulista throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Paulista swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Viana counters by moving into the clinch.

Viana manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Viana is on top in guard.

and Viana holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
